His legacy
The Dash By Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
at a funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning... to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between all those years.

For the dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars... the house... the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
 that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
and always try to understand
 the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile...
remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is read
with your life's actions to rehash,
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?

Some may live a long life and never really make a mark. some are here for a short time but leave quite an impression on the rest of us, that we can't help but change the way we choose to continue our life journey. Luca loved life and the people around him. You are in my heart, on my mind and part of my soul, forever. Love Mama

Never Be Forgotten

Artist Jessica Andrews

I’ll always see your face
The corner of your smile
And all the little things that no one will ever know
Like it was yesterday, won’t ever fade away
Goodbye is just a word that I will never say

You will never be forgotten
A million days could pass us by
But what is time but just a dream
Oh I still feel you here with me
You’re more than a memory
Oh you will never be forgotten

I can‘t hold your hand
Or look into your eyes
And when I talk to you
It just echoes in my mind
But If hearts are made of dust
And if we fell from the stars
I look up tonight and know just where you are

You will never be forgotten
A million days could pass us by
But what is time but just a dream
Oh I still feel you here with me
You’re more than a memory
Oh you will never be forgotten

And the world just keeps on going
It has no way of knowing
That you’re gone

You will never be forgotten
A million days could pass us by
But what is time but just a dream
Oh I still feel you here with me
You’re more than a memory
Oh you will never be forgotten
